Stephanie Wood

Stephanie Wood is an emerging contemporary artist whose work explores the emotional and symbolic aspects of the human experience. Focusing on themes like motherhood, transformation, and the hero's journey, Wood produces paintings that blur the lines between figuration and abstraction. Her figures appear both ancient and highly personal, yet universally relatable, encouraging viewers to find their own stories within each piece. Her artistic practice is based on the idea that creativity is a meaningful way to reconnect with ourselves and others.

Before dedicating herself entirely to painting, Wood spent more than a decade exploring contemplative and spiritual practices, including becoming a Reiki Master. Although she no longer practices these modalities, they shaped her appreciation for symbolism, intuition, and the transformative power of ritual, which she now incorporates into her artwork.

In addition to her original paintings, she also hosts events that emerged naturally from a collection of her experiences as an entrepreneur, her time as an energy healer, and her two-year apprenticeship with Deborah Hanekamp.

Wood’s immersive experiences foster curiosity, reflection, and genuine human connection.

Currently located in Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wood continues to create art that highlights how art can both inspire us individually and unify us as a community.
